  • Profile data: Dietary preferences, default event settings
  • Event data: Menus, recipes, shopping lists, and budget information you create
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns
  • Authentication data: If you sign in via Google or GitHub, we receive your public profile information from those providers

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the Service
  • Save your menus, recipes, and shopping lists
  • Generate AI-powered menu suggestions based on your preferences
  • Search grocery store products on your behalf
  • Send important service-related communications

3. Data Storage and Security

Your account and planning data are stored in our PostgreSQL database, and generated recipe images are stored on the application server. HTTPS protects data in transit, and Row-Level Security (RLS) policies restrict each account to its own records. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI: AI menu generation — your event details are sent to OpenAI's API to generate meal suggestions
  • Kroger API: Product search and pricing — item names are sent to Kroger's API to find products and prices
  • Google / GitHub: Optional OAuth authentication

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data through your profile page
  • Update or correct your information at any time
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data (menus, recipes, shopping lists)

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (menus, recipes, shopping lists, profile) will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
