What is Event Meal Planner?

Event Meal Planner is a web app that helps you plan meals for events of any size. It uses AI to suggest menus, automatically generates shopping lists, compares grocery prices, and tracks your budget — all in one place.

Is Event Meal Planner free to use?

Yes! Event Meal Planner is currently free to use. We may introduce premium features in the future, but core meal planning functionality will always remain accessible.

How does the AI menu suggestion work?

When you create an event, you describe your preferences (cuisine type, dietary restrictions, budget, etc.) and our AI generates a complete meal plan with recipes and ingredients tailored to your group size and dates.

Where do the grocery prices come from?

Product prices are sourced from the Kroger API, which covers Kroger, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, and other Kroger-owned stores. You can set your ZIP code in Profile Settings and select your nearest store so prices reflect your local inventory. We plan to add more store integrations in the future.

How do I set my preferred store location?

Go to Profile Settings and scroll to the Store Location section. Enter your ZIP code, click Find Stores, and select the Kroger store nearest to you. Your shopping list and product searches will then use that store's inventory and pricing. The store selector also appears at the top of your shopping list.

Can I use this for any type of event?

Absolutely! Whether it's a camping trip, family reunion, corporate retreat, birthday party, wedding reception, or weekly meal prep — Event Meal Planner works for events of any size and type.

How accurate are the shopping list quantities?

Our calculation engine accounts for recipe servings, your group's head count, and standard package sizes. It rounds up to the nearest whole package so you always have enough. You can manually adjust quantities if needed.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use Supabase with Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning your data is encrypted and only accessible to you. We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Can I share my meal plan with others?

Currently, meal plans are private to your account. Sharing and collaboration features are on our roadmap for a future update.

What dietary restrictions are supported?

We support vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, kosher, halal, and pescatarian diets. You can also add custom allergen notes when creating an event.

Can I print my meal plan or shopping list?

Yes! Each meal plan has a print/export view that formats your menu and shopping list for easy printing or saving as a PDF.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion by contacting us. All your data (menus, recipes, shopping lists, profile) will be permanently removed within 30 days.
